"I am knocking at your door.
I want to be adopted.
I appeal to you, you who have your
sight, your hearing,
you who are brave and strong and kind.
Will you not constitute yourselves
Knights of the Blind
in this crusade against darkness?"
Helen Keller
1925 Address to the International
Convention of Lions.
The Lebanon Lions Club, proud to be the home club of PDG J. Kenneth Craig, and PDG Francis A. Adamcewicz, was chartered January 31, 1952. We were sponsored by the Colchester Lions Club.
Our annual fundraiser is the Lebanon Country Fair, held the first full weekend in August at the Lebanon Lions Fairground. Monies realized from this major undertaking are returned to the local community in the form of scholarships, Boy Scout sponsorship, Teen Dance, food baskets, eyeglasses and other support for blind and limited vision citizens.
We also support CLERF, Camp Rising Sun, Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Lions Low Vision Center, and other District charities.
In addition, the Lebanon Lions co-sponsor a breakfast buffet in December to benefit a local group, and a breakfast buffet in the Spring to benefit the High School After-graduation party.
